Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your subscription by giving us a week’s notice. In this case, a refund may be applicable, as outlined in our Refund Policy, which is provided in the next section.
We may suspend or terminate your subscription for reasons detailed in our Terms of Service. They include:
- Violation of our Terms of Service.
- Violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Resource use beyond our fair usage policy.
- Resolving third-party claims.
- Payment disputes.
- Court orders.
- Direction or orders from regulators.
- Avoiding financial loss or legal liability.
When your subscription is cancelled by us, you are not eligible for a refund. Refund may be provided at our discretion. The refund amount (if any) will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Refund Policy
Cancellation charges will apply in all cases where service is canceled before the end of the subscription period. Any additional amount paid towards upgrades to the plan is not refundable. For example, if you have paid an additional amount for using a premium domain or TLD, that amount will not be refunded.
Cancellation charges are based on the monthly plan price. The undiscounted annual plan price is divided by 12 to calculate the monthly plan price.
During the first four months of the plan, the cancellation amount will be equal to four months of the monthly plan price, irrespective of the cancellation date. For cancellation after the first four months, the cancellation amount will be equal to the monthly plan price for the number of months the plan was active. For this purpose, part of a month will be counted as one whole month.
Refund will be calculated by deducting the cancellation charges and any amount paid for plan upgrades from the amount actually paid by the customer for the subscription being cancelled.
Examples
For example, let’s say the list price of an annual plan is ₹12,000. After discounts, the amount paid was ₹9,500, which includes ₹500 paid for an upgrade to use a premium TLD that was not included in the original plan.
In this case, the monthly price of the plan is ₹12,000/12 = ₹1,000
Case 1: Subscription cancelled within the first 4 months
Cancellation fee = 4 months x cost of plan/month = 4 * ₹1,000 = ₹4,000
Refund amount = Actual amount paid – Cancellation fee – Amount paid towards upgrades = ₹9,500 – ₹4,000 – ₹500 = ₹5,000
Case 2: Subscription cancelled after 5 months and 4 days
In this case, the plan will be considered active for 6 months.
Cancellation fee = 6 months x price of plan/month = 6 * ₹1,000 = ₹6,000
Refund amount = Actual amount paid – Cancellation fee – Amount paid towards plan upgrades = ₹9,500 – ₹6,000 – ₹500 = ₹3,000
Case 3: Subscription cancelled after 9 months
Cancellation fee = 9 months x cost of plan/month = 9 * ₹1,000 = ₹9,000
Refund amount = Actual amount paid – Cancellation fee – Amount paid towards plan upgrades = ₹9,500 – ₹9,000 – ₹500 = – ₹500
In this case, no refund will be applicable.
Exit Policy
This exit policy specifies our obligations to you when you exit our service. This is only applicable if you were subscribed to a plan that includes a website setup. After you clear any outstanding dues, you will be entitled to the following:
1. Domain transfer information
If we have registered the domain for you and it is valid and eligible for transfer at the time of your request, we will unlock the domain and give you any necessary information, such as an authorization code, to facilitate the transfer of your domain to your new registrar.
The request for domain transfer should come within three months of your exit from our service. Accepting delayed requests is entirely at our discretion and may involve additional charges.
2. Export of website data
The configuration and design of websites are proprietary information. Hence, we will not provide an export of the entire website. However, where applicable and feasible, we will export your customer information, product catalog, order information, website text content, and website images. The data will be exported in a format decided by SoundSense.
This request should be raised within a month of your exit from our service. Accepting delayed requests is entirely at our discretion and may involve additional charges.
